Solution Focused Hypnotherapy for the Effective treatment of Anxiety

Anxiety can be defined as a feeling of worry, nervousness or fear often occurring around situations or events that have an uncertain outcome.  Most of us will experience some degree of anxiety in our lives – it can actually be a good thing particularly when our body reacts by giving us lots of adrenaline to help us power through situations such as exams, job interviews and presentations!  However, when a person begins to feel levels of anxiety, that are highly disproportionate to their everyday lives on a regular basis, we may be dealing with an anxiety disorder.


  • Genaral Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is estimated to affect ~ 5% of the UK population.

  • Women are thought to be twice as likely to be affected than men.

  • The condition is seen more commonly in people belonging to the 35-59 age group although it can be seen in much younger children and the elderly also.

Common symptoms include, but not limited to:

  • Feelings of nervousness, restlessness or heightened tension

  • Having a sense of impending danger, panic attacks or sense of doom

  • Rapid heart beat

  • Difficulty breathing, rapid breaths

  • Sweating

  • Uncontrolled trembles

  • Overall feeling of extreme tiredness

  • Lack of concentration – obsessing over situations that haven’t happened yet.

  • Insomnia

  • Gastrointestinal problems including upset stomach and irritable bowel

  • Unable to control feelings of worry

  • Avoiding situations that may cause anxiety – social phobia.

You will be required to also listen to a relaxation download every evening just before sleep that will help the process.
